Embark on a captivating journey through the heart of the Balkans, where ancient history and vibrant culture collide. This tour takes you through three of the country’s most significant landmarks:

Highlights

  • Tetovo: The Painted Marvel - Visit the stunning Sharena Dzhamija (Painted Mosque), a 15th-century masterpiece unlike any other in the world. Its facade and interior are adorned with intricate floral and geometric patterns, representing the unique artistic legacy of the region.
  • Ohrid: The City of Light - Conclude your trip at the UNESCO-protected Lake Ohrid. Explore the charming cobblestone streets of the Old Town and take in the breathtaking views from the Church of St. John at Kaneo, perched high on a cliff overlooking the crystal-clear waters.
  • Bitola: The "Wide Alley" - Shirok Sokak (meaning "Wide Alley" in Turkish) is the heart and soul of Bitola. It is one of the longest pedestrian streets in the country, stretching from Magnolia Square to the City Park. Architectural Splendor: The street is lined with beautifully preserved 19th-century neo-classical buildings. These structures reflect the period when Bitola was a major Ottoman administrative and diplomatic hub, hosting consulates from across Europe. The Ritual of Coffee: It is a local tradition to sit at one of the many cafés on Shirok Sokak for coffee and people-watching. It is often referred to as the city's "unofficial fashion street". Cinematic History: The street was home to the Manaki brothers, pioneers of Balkan cinema, who opened their photographic atelier there in 1905.
  • Bitola Museum & Kemal Atatürk Memorial Room - The Bitola Museum is located at the end of Shirok Sokak in a building known as the "Old Barracks". Built in 1848, this structure originally served as a prestigious Ottoman Military High School (Mektebi Askeri Idadi). The Connection to Atatürk: Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the founder and first president of modern Turkey, was a student here, graduating in 1899.
